PPA – Sea Kayak
The Personal Performance Awards are discipline specific, it’s at this stage that you can specialise into the bit of the sport you enjoy the most. Training courses take place in a moderate sea environment, you’ll be paddling in the waves to develop your boat handling and rescue skills. The new Personal Performance Awards are now broken down into 3 stages, for the sea kayak award you have the ‘Sea Kayak Award’, the ‘Coastline Sea Kayak Award’ and the ‘Advanced Sea Kayak Award’. For more information on these awards click the awards below. We highly recommend you view the course outlines and come with an idea of which award to go for.
The course is based on the Dorset coastline. We’ll meet around Studland area and spend the first day going through personal sea kayak skills and knowledge, the second day is all about putting the skills into practice as we head out to find some swell on the jurassic coast.
Experience of being in a sea kayak is essential, we advise that you’ve been sea kayaking a few times at the least. This experience can be gained on any of our sea kayaking courses or our membership programme.
